Walkme is a portable battery-powered LED desk light that is recharged by its base unit. Its mobility is designed to promote more sustainable behaviour by the fact that each charge provides a finite amount of light, raising awareness of energy consumption and encouraging energy saving. Portability also allows the placement of light to be considered more carefully and directed for optimum functionality. It can provide a substitute for several static lights around the home, such as desk and bedside lamps, encouraging the user to own fewer lights and reduce bulb use. Walkme would also provide light in the event of a power failure. It is made with UK-sourced recycled materials including recycled charcoal plastic (made from coffee cup waste) and rubber sheeting made from recycled tyres. See Lighten Up Book.
